Brief Description: Eight Ph.D. students will each be awarded $5000 in the calendar year 2025 to facilitate research on a topic related to socio-economic inequality. As Stone Center Junior Scholars during this calendar year, they will be formally affiliated with the Stone Center and expected to participate in some of its activities (e.g., a seminar series, a reception for students). Financial need will be one of the considerations in selecting students, and therefore we are requesting information about financial need and existing funding status at the GC in addition to information on primary area of research. Fostering a diversity of perspectives at the Stone Center will also be a consideration. Social science discipline and topic area are open, though quantitative or mixed methods research is preferred. (Please note that funds will be dispersed in the spring semester, 2025.)
