Had a Book Salon event (organized by Center for the Study of Women and Society at the GC) with her recent book After the Rise and Stall of American Feminism: Taking Back a Revolution (Stanford University Press, 2019) on October 16, 2019.
On October 18, 2019, The Kunz Center for Social Research, housed in the University of Cincinnati Sociology Department and directed by GC Sociology alum Erynn Masi de Casanova (’09), held its inaugural Kunz Center Research Summit on “Quantitative Approaches to Gentrification in the United States.” The invited presentations included a co-authored paper by GC Soc alum Brenden Beck (‘18) (Assistant Professor at University of Florida) and current student Kasey Zapatka, and another paper by GC Alum, Judith Halasz (‘07) (Professor and Chair, SUNY New Paltz Sociology). Another alumna, Sara Martucci (‘18) (Assistant Professor at Mercy College), attended the conference. The Summit generated fascinating dialogues based on cutting-edge research about U.S. cities, and provided the chance for an impromptu “reunion” for alums who hadn’t met before!
