Alexandra Ravenelle is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, a Faculty Fellow with the Center for Urban and Regional Studies (CURS), a 2023-24 Russell Sage Foundation Visiting Scholar, and alumna of ’18 at GC sociology. Her newest book, Side Hustle Safety Net: How Vulnerable Workers Survive Precarious Times, will be released by the University of California Press in October 2023. Her first book, Hustle and Gig: Struggling and Surviving in the Sharing Economy (UCPress) was released in March 2019.
