Anna Zhelnina is a PhD candidate in the program working on the dissertation about resistance to an urban renewal project in Moscow, Russia. Anna will talk about the experience of preparing, revising, and publishing her paper on political apathy in “Social Problems.” Specifically, she will talk about the process of sharpening and polishing the paper in interaction with professors and peers at the GC before submitting to the journal.

Anna Gjika is a Visiting Lecturer at Bard College, and a PhD Candidate in our program.  Anna will speak about her experience writing, revising, and publishing her paper on media representations of new technologies in sexual assault cases in Crime, Media, Culture. Her talk will address the R&R process, including dealing with reviewer comments, resubmitting, and responding to reviewers and editors.
